Maison Rouma
Puy l'eveque is a medieval town steeped in history, it was the stronghold of the Bishops of Cahors. A castle, which was built in the 13th Century, has today only the keep remaining. There are many lovely walks throughout the area and vineyards to visit where you will be welcomed to their caves to taste the wine. There is a local market here on Tuesday selling regional products.
You will find a market on most days in one of the surrounding villages. There are activities close by in the season, canoeing, tennis festivals in the area There is a fete in the town in August which ends with an amazing firework display. Cahors is the nearest big town and is certainly worth a visit, there are many bastide towns around the area which are also worth visiting. There are plenty of restaurants in puy l'evque if you do not wish to drive to explore the many more in the vicinity.
Maison Rouma has a terrace overlooking the garden and pool where -weather permitting - you can have breakfast enjoying the view. There are 3 bedrooms. On the first floor is a large room with a double bed, single bed, sofa-bed, making it an ideal family room. There is a separate bathroom private for this room. On the second floor there are 2 more bedrooms, one with twin beds and a bathroom, the other has a double bed and a bathroom. Adjoining the house is a courtyard in front of the old stable where you can park your car.
The nearest airports are Bergerac which is about one hour and Toulouse which is probably half an hour more
Cahors is the nearest mainline station from Paris and is about half an hour by road from puy l'eveque, there are buses from the station to the town.
