Our period village house, on the edge of Exideuil sur Vienne, is full of character but benefits from modern ensuite bathrooms and central heating. We offer relaxed, comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in the heart of the Charente Limousine countryside. The generous continental breakfast (included in the price) can be taken on the terrace in warmer months. A full, english style breakfast is available at a supplement.
The village has shops including a bakery, chemist and general store. There is also a bar/restaurant. Chabanais, which is a 5 minute drive from us, also has numerous bars and cafes. However we do offer a family style evening meal, at a supplement, if you prefer. This will be prepared using fresh seasonal produce with vegetables from our garden.
There is a lounge for guests use at any time. There are games, TV and a wood burner for those colder afternoons and evenings when its nice to relax after a walk along the Vienne. For mid winter months the house also benefits from full central heating. WiFi is also available.
Bedroom 1
This room has a very comfortable king size double bed. There is also a large sofa. that converts to a small double bed which is ideal for children. There is a large screen TV that receives british or french tv as required by our guests. You also have the facility to make hot drinks at any time of the day. The bathroom (exclusive to this room) has a toilet, basin and shower.

Bedroom 3
This room has 2 comfortable single beds. You will have the facilities to make hot drinks at any time. There is also a TV (only receiving UK TV). Please note this room has shared bathroom facilities but is excellent for those looking for clean, very good value accommodation.
Hairdryers and electrical plug adapters are available for guests use.

The area is surrounded by places of interest, stunning green countryside and numerous lakes. Walking, cycling and fishing are on the doorstep and can be enjoyed at any time of the year.

Confolens: this attractive town has a beautiful 13th Century bridge spanning the Vienne together with a good many 15th and 16th Century houses lining the streets. The town is probably best known for hosting an International Folk Festival which attracts hundreds of performers and thousands of visitors each August.
Chassenon: the site of Gallo-Roman thermal baths.
Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure: Resistance Memorial and museum explaining the role of the resistance in the Charente.
Rochechouart: known as the capital of ‘the countryside of the meterorite’is a pretty walled town with an impressive Chateau.
Brigueuil: picturesque fortified walled town.
Rochebeaucourt: the beautiful Chateau built in the 11th Century.
Lacs de Haute Charente: plenty of activities including sailing, swimming, walking, cycling and horseriding. .
Lac de Saint-Mathieu: walking, swimming, bar, games.
Roumazieres-Loubert, Pres de Peyras: fishing, swimming, pedalos, cycling and walking.
Oradour-sur-Glane: the village preserved after the massacre of all the residents in June 1944.
Within 60 minutes
Angouleme: is a city built on a rocky promontory. There are a wealth of museums and other sites of interest. The city is also known as the international home of the ‘Comic Strip’. Every September the streets are turned into a vintage race circuit (Circuit des Remparts) as classic cars tour through the streets and the local countryside.
Limoges: probably best known for its porcelain and enamelware. In the city centre are two medieval quarters with charming streets. There are also subterranean tunnels which can be visited and many other museums and beautiful architecture including the magnificent railway station.

Cognac and Jarnac : the home of brandy and Armagnac.
Brantome: known by some as the Venice of the Dordogne. The town is classed as one of Les Plus Beaux Detours.
