Green Horizons Bed & Breakfast, Puivert
Combining tranquillity and beauty with easy access to village shops, the swimming lake and beach, and a wide range of activities, Green Horizons offers comfort and a warm welcome for individuals, couples or families. We invite you to sip wine on the sunny terrace, wander in the meadow, lie in a hammock among the cool trees, or relax by the swimming pool. You are also welcome to use the pool house bar and summer kitchen with built-in barbeque
The pretty double room has a large and cosy four-poster bed, plenty of storage space, and lovely views over the grounds and woods. Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided. The large private bathroom adjacent to the bedroom has a bath and separate shower and is fully equipped with towels, hairdryer and toiletries.
The complimentary breakfast includes cereals, fruit and yogurt, croissants and fresh bread with honey and jams, cheeses and boiled eggs, fruit juices and coffee or tea. On sunny days breakfast is served on the terrace or in the conservatory. We also have a self-contained studio apartment for rental. Contact us for details and prices.
There is a comfortable sitting area in the conservatory, with plenty of information leaflets, books and board games. Free wi-fi is available throughout the house.
As well as sharing the grounds, swimming pool, picnic area and summer kitchen, you are welcome to borrow our two adult bicycles, or to store your own bicycles safely in our barn. There is ample off-road parking, and plenty of space for ball games and adventures for the children. Leaflets and maps provided offer information on local walks and activities. Clothes washing and drying facilities are available on request.
Green Horizons offers you a welcoming and peaceful place to stay in a beautiful area. The Languedoc, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, is one of the sunniest regions of France, with over 200 days of sunshine a year. Popular with hikers, cyclists and watersports enthusiasts, it is close to the mountains for seasonal skiing and to the Mediterranean. With its organic vineyards, Cathar castles, and colourful local markets it offers something for everyone.
There are bars and restaurants within walking distance in season, and a short cycle-ride or drive away all year round. Lac de Montbel, the largest watersports lake in the South of France, is 15 minutes’ drive or 30 minutes by bike. The cinema is 20 minutes drive away, and Puivert village, castle, swimming lake and museum are in easy walking distance.
There is plenty of parking space, or we can arrange a transfer from Quillan, which has good (one euro) transport links from Perpignan and Carcassonne - convenient either for rail travel via Paris and Lille or budget flights from the UK. We are happy to advise on transport, day trips to the coast or High Pyrenees etc.
Please contact us for more information or to book your stay. We look forward to welcoming you to Green Horizons.
