Migratory Birds

Claude: 'We have the chance to observe birds rare 'in the sector:

ibis, spoonbills, egrets, Brant, Avocets, tadornes of Belon, gray herons, cormorants ... on the island of Ré,

stork, hoopoe, kingfishers, night herons along the canal and into the swamp. '

There are also five bird sanctuaries nearby.
