Le Bouleau

With our luxury accommodation in the very traditional and rural Aveyron, Le Bouleau is the perfect destination for your French holiday. Also a small organic saffron and vegetable farm, we are located near to the village of Goutrens in the heart of Aveyron.

Located at the southern tip of the Massif Central, Aveyron styles itself as the land of emotion. The deep river gorges of the Aveyron, Lot, Tarn and Truyère rivers cut through the landscape, providing spectacular vistas, as well as a natural playground for the adventurous.

The traditional weekly market is very much a part of Aveyron life, and none is more beautiful than that of the bastide town of Villefranche-de-Rouergue. Here, and at all of the other village and town markets, it is possible to taste and buy artisanale produce direct from the producers.

From its setting of perfect rural tranquility, Le Bouleau provides easy access to these 'Plus beaux villages', Belcastel (a mere 15mins), Conques (30 mins), Sauveterre de Rouergue (45 mins), Estaing (1 hour), and Najac (1 hour) they are your typical drop-dead-gorgeous French villages; filled with Michelin-starred restaurants, chateaux, ancient cathedrals, crystal-clear rivers and histories going back 1000 years. They are unmissable!

Our traditional stone barn is typical of those found in the Aveyron département.
Where once there was just a store of winter fodder, there are now 5 luxury double bedrooms, each with it's own en-suite bathroom. Three of the rooms have luxury showers, and two have both a bath and a shower.

From the bedroom level, a 3-metre wide staircase leads to the open-plan upper level, with its original exposed trusses and voliges, from where the eye is drawn to the beautiful pastoral views through the wide south-facing windows. A lovely modern kitchen, lounge and dining area are located

on this level. At the south-facing end of the building there is a private terrace equipped for outdoor eating and barbecues. Breakfasts consist of fresh bread and croissants from the local boulangerie, home-made organic jams and honey, fruit juices, cereals, fruit, tea and coffee. Guests can help themselves to tea and coffee throughout the day and a four course dinner can be prepared and served to you in the dining area by prior arrangement.
