Number One Bed & Breakfast
Set in the centre of Champagne Mouton, Number One Bed & Breakfast provides luxury rooms in a restored French mansion house. The house was built in 1854 and still has many original features including outbuildings, formal gardens and an Orangery.
The interior of the house has been designed by professional interior designer Lane Hunt (BA Hons) and blends original character with contemporary design. The Caversham room has en suite bathroom, toilet, private lobby and stunning views to the 15th-century Chateau.
Other rooms are available with shared bathrooms. Guests may use the formal gardens, outside dining area, and the Orangery.
With good roads and easy access to many of the Charentes towns, cities and coastal resorts, it is the perfect place to base your holiday. There is free parking in our secure courtyard and all the local amenities are no more than minutes on foot. The town has a supermarket, two bakers, chemist, shops and holds two markets each week where you can buy local specialities and locally grown produce.
There is a bar/cafe only a minute from the house and there are several excellent restaurants in and around the local villages. Your hosts David & Lane will be more than happy to suggest places to visit and can offer a selection of leaflets and flyers collected from many of the regions attractions.
The house is within easy reach of Futurascope, the islands of d'Aix, Oleron & Ile de Re, La Rochelle, and the little green Venice region where there are more than 80 hectares of canals to explore by flat bottomed boat.
The area is also a popular destination for ramblers and bird watchers as there are many rare and interesting species of birds to be found here, not least the huge array of Birds of Prey we have. Cycling and Canoeing are also very prominent sports here and we are within easy reach of the Charente Lakes - perfect for walking, canoeing and having picnics.
