La Locanda di Gino Sulmona
In February 2009, upstairs the restaurant we have realized four bedrooms, two double and two quadruple. From each window of the bedrooms it’s possible to admire the ancient centre of the town and in particular the Romanesque façade of Santa Maria della Tomba Church, that is placed in Plebiscito square.
Each room has air-conditioned, an elegant bathroom with shower box, hair-drier and soft towels.
Gino's locanda also offers the possibility of relaxing in the comfortable and bright reading room placed in the hall of the inn.
The Restaurant was born in 1962 in a place where always there were ancient wine shops or inns. During the years Gino’s Restaurant had a slow but gradual evolution, from a tavern in the 70s, to trattoria in the 80s and then, after the last renovation, as restaurant in 1989, but without modifying Allega family’s origins and traditions.
In the kitchen, in fact, there is still Lucia, the mother, helped by her effective daughters-in-law, Titina and Marcella, in the dining room, as waiters Giacomo and Marco, Lucia’s sons. All together they try to give the costumers the homely warmth typical of our land.
In 1986 near Gino’s restaurant at number 7 in Plebiscito square, was born “Soldo di Cacio”, a shop where the costumers of the restaurant and the good-eating lovers can buy a lot of special and typical products revalued in the years by a growing enogastronomic regional culture. It has also a specialized selection in cheeses and cold cuts.
