Welcome to Bed & Breakfast Ausculum
Shadowed by forests and bushes, by secular olive trees, the hills on which the settlement of Ascoli aroused, opened the storybook of the ancient Daunian civilization, witnessed the famous battle of BC 279 between the Roman army and Pyrrhus, saw the Romans in their marking of this territory by cultural transforming it, which then was left to other future civilizations, Byzantine, Saracen and Anjou to play their part in the history scene. All is meant to introduce the visitors even for an instant, in the remote atmosphere of old times, conceived in the form of a living fairytale of this blessed land.
The idea to open a B&B comes from the aspiration to enhance the historic town of Ascoli Satriano, located in one of the most beautiful areas of southern Italy, the ancient Daunia, the region of Apulia, where nature interweaves with the history and traditions. To all travelers who want to immerge themselves in such a fantastic experience, 'Bed & Breakfast Ausculum' offers an informal and welcoming atmosphere, marked by courtesy and attention to details, where guests will certainly feel at home.
The “Ausculum Bed&Breakfast” follows the North-European tradition which consists in offering to the voyagers a bed and the breakfast. At the beginning the breakfast was an English one, and afterwards it was adapted to the specificities of every European cuisine. In this manner, the guests can get a good knowledge about the culture, the local traditions, and at the same time they become familiarized with the places in which they have chosen to spent their holiday.
Our B&B is located at Ascoli Satriano, the famous town of the Griffins in the province of Foggia, between two important naturalistic and cultural areas, the Plateau (Tavoliere) of Apulia and the Daunian Sub Apennines.
