Tivenys is 12 kilometres from Tortosa in the Province of Tarragona, Lower Ebro, Catalonia Spain. On the banks of the idyllic River Ebro near to the lovely beaches of the Costa Daurada. The universal theme park Port Aventura is a short drive away. The nearest airport is Reus with low cost airlines flying in from many UK centres. Flights are also available into Barcelona, enjoy a train ride with fantastic views of the Mediterranean. Rural tranquillity in the unspoilt Catalan countryside can be yours in a matter of hours.
We do recommend car hire to enjoy this area fully. We can arrange fishing trips and licences for those who wish to do battle with the river Ebro's giant Wells catfish, walking trips, rambling or birdwatching tours for those who wish to take a more relaxed approach. We are now able to offer painting holidays. The perfect spot to explore the culture, history, landscape and wildlife.
Our Finca is also very well placed for people searching for their Spanish dream home. Tortosa has many easily accessible estate agents. The Terres de l’Ebre cover the areas that surround the final stretch of the majestic river Ebro before it meets the Mediterranean Sea. A large river delta now the Ebro delta natural park plays host to three hundred and twenty five species of birds over half of the six hundred that exist in Europe.
It is also an area of international importance due to eight endangered plants and sixty-nine species of vertebrate fauna. A uniquely beautiful, completely flat landscape planted with ever changing rice fields.
In contrast the inland area has the mountainous Ports region also a national park ever watched by mount Caro the highest peak in the area at 1447 metres. On the opposite side of the Ebro valley Mount Cardo overlooks Tortosa.
Tivenys is situated just 12 kms outside the historic City of Tortosa, a beautiful city built on the banks of the River Ebro under the 10th century castle De Suda built by the Knights Templar.
Tortosa has many places of interest to visit from the stunning cathedral to the bustling indoor food market a place to collect gourmet ingredients or just sit with a few tappas and watch the life of real Spain pass you by.
The area is unspoilt a delight for walkers, bird watchers, fishermen and those who love the countryside.
For those that want beach life the coast is a short drive away with miles of unspoilt golden sand that gives its name to the Costa durada .. the coast of gold.
Casa Siempre gives the visitor a real insight into secret Spain, real life away from sun and sangria tourist areas .. but of course there is plenty of sun and sangria is still the national drink.
