Buttermilk Lodge
A purpose built guesthouse ( opened in July 1997) offering every modern convenience with charm and excellent standards of accommodation.
The location is ideal its just 5 minutes walk down a quiet side road to the town centre, park your car and relax.
The house was named after Loch Ime - Buttermilk Lake which is located just over the hill and each bedroom is also named after a local lake, we can give you directions if you wish to visit your lake.
Bedrooms are spacious with dd phone, TV, radio alarm clock, hairdryer, personal toiletries, ironing facilities and WiFi, all have private bath and or shower room.
Our guest lounge has complimentary tea/ coffee facilities, original art , books, board games etc and a real turf fire, there are also glasses, corkscrews for your use, and the guest comment book from 1997 to date make interesting reading.
Our breakfasts are famous, there are numerous choices of cooked breakfast each freshly cooked to order using local produce, including free range eggs. The well-laden buffet stocks juices, cereals, cheeses, meats, yoghurts, fresh baking and homemade breads jams etc, just help yourself.
In the lounge area there is a computer for Internet access. Packed Lunches, early breakfasts and laundry service can all be arranged, no problem! On our land nearby we raise Connemara Ponies and Sheep, guests are welcome to visit, you may even meet Harley our Golden Retriever and Toby our Sheepdog.
Your hosts Patrick and Cathriona will gladly help with suggestions for walks, drives, and restaurants etc. Patrick is Clifden born and bred and Cathriona has been visiting the area since childhood so they can help you with any queries, information requests etc.
They returned to Ireland after some years in the UK working in the Building and Hotel Industries, and purchased the site and built Buttermilk Lodge
