Osborne House Bed & Breakfast
Osborne House is the home of Heather and Neil Allan, which they opened to guests in July 2011. It is a pretty, Victorian house set in a large garden in a secluded location but close to the centre of Ballater village.
We only have three rooms so the atmosphere is relaxed and homely. Upstairs are the two large double/twin rooms. Both are en suite and with views of the scenery around.
There is a drawing room with an open fire and television for relaxing in. We serve breakfast in the dining room, or, if you prefer, on the colonial style verandah overlooking the garden.
Osborne House is situated on Dundarroch Road, a quiet cul-de-sac which leads onto picturesque walks in the countryside around Ballater but which is only a short distance from the centre of the village.
Heather and Neil look forward to giving you a warm welcome. Guests who arrive at tea-time are offered tea or coffee and a complimentary slice of homemade cake or flapjack.
The village of Ballater is on the Victorian Heritage Trail that leads through Royal Deeside. Queen Victoria's private railway carriage is on display at the restored Ballater Railway Station and the village has a parade of privately owned shops as well as unsurpassed restaurants.
Around Ballater are picturesque walks for all levels. Golf, tennis, hill-walking, rock-climbing, mountain-biking, salmon-fishing and ski-ing in season are available.
Overseas guests are very welcome. Heather and Neil both speak good German. Wherever you are from they will be happy to help you make the most of your stay in this beautiful Highland village.
