Briarbank is the perfect location to explore Oban and the surrounding area. Oban is known as the gateway to the Isles with ferries leaving on a regular basis to Coll, Tiree, Barra, Eriskay and Mull.
All rooms feature en-suite toilet and shower facilities with two of our rooms, The Macdonald Suit and State Room, featuring four-poster beds. Briarbank also boasts a guest lounge and mature south facing gardens to relax in. Each morning guests will wake up to freshly cooked Scottish breakfast, the perfect romantic get away.
Briarbank is a short five minute walk from the centre of Oban where many seafood restaurants and bars can be found, along with the busy ferry terminal. Oban is home to McCaig's Tower, which is a prominent tower on Battery Hill overlooking the town giving stunning views over the sea to Mull and surrounding islands.
In and around Oban there are many outdoor activities including beautiful walks and, for the more adventurous, sea kayaking. The Oban Sealife Sanctuary is a short drive away and you can also pop into Dunstaffnage Castle and Chapel on the way.
If you’re interested in Scottish history, a trip to Dunollie Castle and Museum is the perfect way to spend an afternoon. Walk round the grounds and enchanted woodlands discovering the life of the MacDougals in the 1745 House Museum.
If your looking for a sight seeing or wildlife tour Oban has many to choose from including day trips to the islands of Mull, Coll and Tiree.
For those who like a little tipple, a tour of the Oban Whisky Distillery is great way to spend your time and sample some of Scotland’s finest single malt whisky. The distillery is uniquely situated right in the heart of the town so you can have a wee nip and not worry about the car!
