Solus Spiritual Bed & Breakfast
For peaceful bed and breakfast accommodation in the Scottish Borders, our home is modern with lots of lovely welcoming daylight. The lounge and dining room look over our secluded half acre garden and ponds, and the community woodland.
Our tranquil lounge is a breathing space for conversation, meditation , reading or contemplating your next day's activities. The dining area, where our quality breakfast is served, is open plan to the lounge and has a door out to a deck and the garden.
As well as your comfort, taking care of the environment is important to us. The house has underfloor heating throughout, which helps you feel lovely and snug in the colder months. We have solar thermal panels to provide hot water, and solar photo voltaic panels to provide electricity.
You'll have a restful night in our lovely, quiet, airy room, with its comfortable beds, en suite shower room and walk-in wardrobe. The underfloor heating makes for a cosy room after exploring the Scottish Borders on a winter's day. Your shower room floor will feel like walking onto a tropical beach. There's a lovely view of the Eildon Hills to wake up to, as well. The room is for up to 3 guests, and can be made up as three single beds, or a super king plus single. We are happy to welcome babies, but we do not have a cot.
In-room facilities include: TV/radio, toiletries, hospitality tray, towels and bathrobes, hairdryer, Wifi, alarm clock, USB charger
Please check availability and rates via the web site, or contact us by e-mail for further information.
The Scottish Borders is farming country, and we use local or homegrown produce in our breakfasts and optional evening meals. Breakfast includes fruit juices, cereals, yoghurt, toast and spreads, fresh fruit, porridge (to order), and a quality cooked breakfast. We can provide a 2-course evening meal given 24 hours advance notice.
We can provide guided meditation sessions, and/or 1-to1 spiritual development consulations, as an optional extra during your stay.
You'll find us on the north eastern edge of Galashiels, which is nestled in the Tweed Valley about an hour's drive South of Edinburgh. We're easily accessible by public transport too, particularly via the new Borders Railway. The house is equidistant from both Galashiels and Tweedbank stations, and we would be happy to arrange to pick you up from either. Galashiels Transport Hub is the main stop for long distance buses, and a central point for embarking on your exploration of the area.
