 Or if you are looking for exhilarating action, two of the 7stanes Cycle Routes Glentrool and
 Kirroughtree are nearby.
 
 GOLF A varied selection of Golfing is available including St Medans,Monreith - Newton Stewart -Wigtownshire County Golf Club, Glenluce - Portpatrick and Stranraer

 PLACES TO EAT In Port William itself there is a very good licensed Restaurant - The Clansman as well as a Pub/Hotel - The Monreith Arms close by and worth a visit are the Cock Inn, Auchenmalg and the Steam Packet Inn, the Isle of Whithorn.
 
 HOW TO FIND US. Port William is located some 17 miles to the south of Newton Stewart in the heart of the Machars area of Dumfries & Galloway
 
 From Newton Stewart Take the A714 following signs for Wigtown. Just before Wigtown turn Right on the B7005 following signs for Whithorn and Port William, rejoining the A714 at Bladnoch. Just after Bladnoch turn right on the B7085 to Port William via Whauphill. Once in Port William turn Right into Main Street (A747) and Hawthorn House is the last House on the right. From Stranraer Take the A75 with signs to Newton Stewart. At Glenluce take the A747 to Port William. Hawthorn House is the first House on the left as you enter Port William
