Acer Glen B&B
Greig Street is a relatively quiet street, even though it is just off the A82. 3 of the 5 letting rooms face the back garden. The B&B is a very short walk (100m) to the river and the opposite bank is the town centre.
There are multiple restaurants and take-away on this side of the river and also a supermarket. Everything of interest in Inverness is within walking distance including the theatre, museum, castle, shopping, restaurants/fast food, bars/nightclubs, cathedral, city bus tour and day trip meeting points.
In addition to your room, guests will have access to the dining room during the day and the front patio/garden for a cup of tea or a cigarette. There is a small fridge on the 1st floor landing for guest use.
The owner is in the house 95% of the time so is usually on hand to help or I can be easily contacted by phone.
There is on-street parking on a first come first served basis and the B&B has one guest parking permit
By Car: Acer Glen B&B is easy to get to. It is metres from the A82. You can park anywhere on the street from 1800 to 0800 free of charge (please note parking is limited and there are several B&Bs on the street, so there is no guarantee of a parking space). Parking during the day is for permit holders (expect for 3 bays where parking is limited to 1 hour). There is one parking permit for the B&B, allocated on a first come first served basis (you can book the permit when booking the room).
You can park on some of the side streets further away from the centre of town for free. Alternatively, the Rose Street Car Park is a 'pay-on-exit' parking lot, within walking distance (hopefully it isn’t raining) open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Charges apply at all times of the week (example charges: 2 hours - £1.40, 24hours - £7.00, extra days £5.00 per day)
From Bus/Train Station: The easiest way to the B&B is a taxi which should be about £5. If walking - you need to get to the river, it is probably easiest to ask someone at the station to direct you. At the river you will see 2 road bridges with a foot bridge in between - the foot bridge is the Grieg St bridge and if you walk over it you are on Grieg St. Acer Glen B&B is about 150m along Grieg St on the left-hand side. There are 2 red awnings with white lettering and trim. Also a 2-metre wooden carving in the front garden and there is a red front door. It should take about 10 minutes.
From the Airport: The 2 main ways from the airport are 1) catching a bus to Inverness Bus Station (about £4 for a single journey) (make sure you catch the Inverness bus not the Aberdeen bus). You can then either walk about 10 minutes depending on your luggage, or take a taxi which should be about £5. Or 2) take a taxi directly from the airport, which will be about £25.
