Ayre of Cara is a family run Bed and Breakfast, situated on the beautiful Isle of South Ronaldsay.
We are easily found right beside the fourth Churchill Barrier with superb unbroken views over Scapa Flow towards the Hoy Hills.
Whether you are staying for one night before catching the ferry, or for an extended break, you can be sure of a very warm welcome. The ferry port is only 5 minutes down the road.
Throughout your stay you can enjoy high quality accommodation in a friendly, welcoming environment.
You will also have access to our expansive garden with sea walls, and our relaxing residents lounge which is equipped with an extensive collection of books, perfect for unwinding with after a long day exploring the beautiful islands.
To set you up for the day ahead, we provide a comprehensive, tasty hot and cold breakfast menu, ranging from a full Scottish breakfast, to lighter fruit and cereal options.
We also offer a packed-lunch option, so you have everything you need whilst exploring the many attractions, sites and wildlife across the Islands.
There really is so much to do and see here on Orkney, there are so many historical sites for you to explore, including Scara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar, Maeshowe and the Tomb of the Eagles. Or you may prefer to explore the wildlife on the islands, or even find out more about Orkney arts and crafts, whatever you choose to do we are sure that you will enjoy your stay.
