Sheltowee Trace Bed & Breakfast

Sheltowee Trace Bed and Breakfast is a log home... different from the traditional B&B’s. It’s a rustic retreat where anyone can relax. As you approach, you'll hear Native American music with the strong drum beat and the soft flutes playing. Inside the home there are stuffed game birds, musket powder horns, Hopi Kachina dolls, Indian breastplate and a bison skull that sets the tone.
It is a unique lodge, located near South Central Michigan’s picturesque Concord Village and close to the Jackson, Marshall, Albion and the Jonesville areas. Michigan International Speedway (MIS Speedway) and Fire Keepers Casino are just minutes away. Many families stay here for visits and graduations from area colleges: Albion College, Spring Arbor University and Hillsdale College. Hotels and motels can’t offer this type of serenity.

We cater to individual diets like vegetarian, diabetic and gluten-free. Dates are available for family-friendly and kid-friendly activities in an outdoor setting. We offer full business services like fax service, WiFi and internet access so you can play or work at your leisure. Please see our website for a list of our policies.

ROOMS:
We have 3 rooms, and a cabin available. All guests have access to the regular Lodge amenities which include a full hearty country breakfast and use of the facilities hot tub. Rooms are quoted for double occupancy per night. On the property you can kayak on the pond or take a stroll through the woods or just sit and bird watch.

Lodge Room
If you are looking for a special romantic get-away … or that special occasion… a “girls only” weekend away … a scrap booking get-away … or an escape from the daily grind. .. this room this has it all! The Lodge Room is a two-room suite and includes: a home theater system and with a 52' plasma Television equipped with surround sound with Dish Network and over 200 DVD movies, pool table, a fieldstone wood-burning fireplace that you can light to set the mood, large private bath, refrigerator, microwave, board games, and a queen sized log bed & log furniture. $165/night (2 person occupancy)

Boone’s Lair
The Boone room is a special room for us; look out the back window and down the woodland trace. We have tried to keep the 'feel' simple and quaint. If you get the chance, read about The Cumberland Gap and close your eyes and imagine what life was like back then. The Flintlock rifle over the bed is 'real' but not old. It was made for me by a friend that passed away several years ago. The feather is from a wild turkey that passed through the property. The hat is coyote. The chair is draped with a buffalo hide. The Boone’s Lair room has log walls and ceiling. It has a queen sized log bed and log furniture, television for watching VHS tapes or DVD’s, a refrigerator, private bath and private porch. There is access to a microwave in the kitchen. $110/night (2 person occupancy)

Miss Reb’s Retreat
Miss Reb’s Retreat is a living space that can sleep up to 7 people. It is ideal for a family setting. It is decorated with a horse theme. It has a kitchenette complete with refrigerator, stove, dishes, silverware, pots & pans. There is a living room and dining room area and it has a private full bath. There are 2 small bedrooms, one twin bed, one full bed, then in the living room there is a pull-out queen sleeper-sofa and a full-sized Murphy bed. Meals are not included, but may be added by prior arrangement for an addition fee. $140/night (4 person occupancy)

The Cabin
The cabin is a rustic, 1940’s hunting cabin. It is next to the pond. It has a full-sized bed and a bunk bed. It has electricity, however, it does not have running water. There is a microwave and a small refrigerator. It has an outdoor fire pit. There is a porch swing and a table and chairs. There is an outhouse next to the cabin (for convenience) and the guests have access to a shared bath. $85/night (2 person occupancy)

About Us:
Inn Keepers David & Sarah Salley,
with the help of their family, have restored this 1970's log home and have added custom details such as field stone fireplaces, custom railings, landscaping and more. David has added his personal touch to the home with inspiration from his Native American and Appalachian Mountain heritage. The addition of antiques and his background have provided a unique historic-like atmosphere. Sarah enjoys cooking and has added much variety to the menu. Their love of gardening, history, and antiques contribute to 'down home' feel of Sheltowee Trace. It is with greatest pleasure that David and Sarah invite you to share in their love of Sheltowee Trace.
