This stunning 1876 Italianate mansion, named for a steamship that brought President Teddy Roosevelt to Vicksburg in 1908 is located in the Historic Garden District 6 blocks from the Mississippi River and less than 2 miles from the Vicksburg National Military Park, the best preserved civil war battlefield in the county.

The home features Bavarian plaster mouldings and gold leaf mouldings throughout and is the only home to feature oval arched woodwork and trim of cypress. This bed and breakfast features many beautiful antiques as well as 4 chandeliers that are original to the home.

All guest accommodations are located in the mansion and offer exquisite and private large rooms each with beautiful private baths with tub and showers. individual heat and air conditioning controls, luxurious bed and bath linens, upscale bath amenities, bath robes, complimentary check in beverages, 'special' nightly turn down service, wireless internet, TV's and VCR's, Civil War tape library and Movies, Books, and Games located in our private Guest Retreat..

A full southern plantation breakfast is served each morning including homemade sweet breads, fresh fruits , bacon, fluffy croissant French toast, sausage, biscuits and gravy, grits, quiche, fresh perked coffee, tea, juice and an array of other mouth-watering choices.

Beautiful gardens with stone benches for relaxing, a gazebo situated under a stately Magnolia Tree, verandas with porch swings and wicker furniture offering lovely views. Private, gated off street parking and a lovely Gift Shop located on the grounds.

Nearby are several antebellum and postbellum homes open for tours. There is shopping nearby as well as fine dining, casinos, golfing, and riverboat excursions.
