As of December 26, 2010, Rick & Glenda Jackson traded their lives in West Palm Beach, Florida, for a return to Ellicottville, Rick’s boyhood home.

Rick missed the snow, the mountains, the cool summers, and general tranquility. The time had come for them to fulfil their dream, putting their hearts and creativity to work as Bed & Breakfast Innkeepers.

We have now completed all our updates to the property. The hiking trails are open, and tie right into the Finger Lakes Trail. Our guests can get to us by snowmobile in the winter, so plan your trip for this winter.

We are a five minute walk to the shops and restaurants in the village, and we are one mile from Holimont, and a mile and a half from Holiday Valley. Seneca Allegany Casino is a 15 minute drive, and Ralph Wilson Stadium is approx. 35 minute drive.

The Ilex sits on perhaps the largest tract of virgin land in Ellicottville, and Ilex guests are encouraged to enjoy every unspoiled acre of it!

You may be inspired to go hiking to see abundant wildlife including, deer, turkey’s, foxes, and maybe even a black bear.

Come winter, you can ski at two major ski resorts right down the street or enjoy a backyard filled with snowshoeing, snowmobiling and the delights of cross country skiing. We have direct access to snowmobile trails. Guests can snowmobile in, stay the night and snowmobile out the next morning after a great breakfast.

Privacy and comfort, just like home. The main house at The Ilex offers six luxury guest rooms each with its own full bath. Along with custom decor features that include some antiques, each room is furnished with a fireplace, air conditioning, and cable TV. A small cottage that adjoins the house is also offered. It includes the same amenities, along with its own mini kitchen.

The backyard year-round hot tub, seasonal in-ground heated swimming pool, patio lounge, upstairs sitting room, downstairs fireplace lounge and dining room are there for all to enjoy! We hope you will come and enjoy this elegant country Inn and couples retreat.
