Baker Street House offers reasonably priced rooms with shared bath in Schroon Lake NY close to beaches, mountains, just a few minutes off the Northway. Large common areas, breakfast nook and an expansive front porch for relaxing. On site parking. Popular Sticks & Stones bar & bistro next door. Public beach and downtown shops are just a mile away.

Hoffman Room: Twin beds and classic Adirondack lodge decor await the weary traveler in the Hoffman Room. Set at the back of the property, you’ll awake refreshed in this quiet corner room.

Morningstar Room: The Morningstar Room greets the day with stunning light. Featuring a painstakingly restored hardwood floor, this room offers two full beds and space for reading, contemplation, or a quiet conversation. We chose to name the room because of a unique local history -- The film adaptation of Herman Wouk’s Marjorie Morningstar was shot on location at nearby Scaroon Manor in the 1950s. The film starred Natalie Wood in the title role, which was her first playing the part of a “grown-up.” William Holden starred as Noel Airman, an aging stage performer and Marjorie’s mentor/love interest. A number of local Schroon Lake residents played “extras” in the film; many of them remain a vibrant part of the community today. The Morningstar room recaptures the spirit of that simpler time and its less hurried lifestyle.

The Putnam Suite: Two adjoining rooms with a glass semi-private passage door offer a queen bed, double futon, and single day bed…along with plenty of light…ideal for a family stay.

Rooms are double occupancy with the exception of the Putnam Suite, which sleeps four comfortably. For larger groups and families, the entire floor of two rooms plus the suite may be reserved.

Please note that this is a shared bath guest house. Although there is no air conditioning, we have cool nights and a night breeze from the lake. Smoking is not permitted on the property. Note that all guests must climb a staircase to reach the rooms.
