Ben and Jackie have collected 16 pre-Civil War buildings and have restored 4 of them and added modern conveniences for bed and breakfast accommodations.
Flat Branch house was build 1720. Bennetts Creek house was built 1750 and the Bear Swamp House was built 1837. Pratt Wing is currently rented out by the month. Each house has a queen bed, working fireplace, air conditioning and furnace, refrigerator, microwave, full bathroom, coffee pot, cable TV and wireless internet. Bennetts Creek house has a twin bed upstairs and Bear Swamp has an extra twin and a sofa bed. It is 90 a night for 2 and 10 for each additional person. 5 for pets and 10 for using the fireplace.
The night's stay includes a full cooked breakfast. Sunday morning guests get a basket and other moorings guests eat in the main house.
There is a furniture making workshop with week long classes. Guests do not have to attend the furniture school. Go to the hobbsfurniture site for details.
The cottages are furnished with the furniture reproductions by Benjamin Hobbs.

It is located between Hertford and Edenton NC, an hour south of Norfolk, Va and an hour east of Nags Head, NC.
The restaurant is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 5:30 and close when everyone is finished.
Guests are welcomed to eat grapes, blueberries, pear, plums and figs off of the trees, vines or bushes in season.
