Highland Place Bed & Breakfast
Highland Place offers you your choice of four large guest rooms, each with private bath, cotton linens and cozy robes, cable TV with a host of movies and commercial-free music, VCR backed by our library of great hits.
Several rooms also have a small stereo with a selection of music CDs and capability of playing your own CDs and tapes.
The sleeping rooms are quite different from each other, though similar in theme and equal in luxury. Each room, named for one of the families who previously owned the home, invites you to relax and enjoy yourself in its unique comfort.
Warm ceramic tile reminiscent of Mexico welcomes you to Wall's Atrium, a private, three room suite located in the lower level of the home.
An adobe-style gas log fireplace flickers on a cherry bedroom ensemble dominated by the king bed designed by internationally acclaimed artist Bob Timberlake.
A skylight, a large table for work or gaming, and a sofa make the sitting room as versatile as it is comfortable. Two showerheads in the bath offer an exhilarating experience to help you relax and unwind.
Wall's Atrium is a favorite of business travelers, honeymooners and anyone looking for a complete comfort in a private and quiet setting.
Let a cozy glow from the fireplace and soft music from the media center in our Hamilton Room welcome you to the pre-dinner nap in the grand old walnut and cherry four-poster canopy queen bed.
This spacious room with a re-glazed classic Italian golden crackled wall finish and windows on two sides features a private bath with an extra large soaking tub as well as a shower.
The Hamilton is terrific for the romantic traveler, as a birthday or other special occasion gift, or for anyone else who wants to climb into a supremely comfortable bed for the night.
The Butler Room presents a completely different world accented by poppy fresh tones that create playful reflections in your imagination.
The queen bed is inviting you to snuggle in with its down-filled puff. But first a long soak in its vintage claw-foot tub?
Connect to its adjoining room to make a perfect venue for a traveling family or for friends getting ready for a marriage party or renewing a college dorm friendship.
The Butler Suite adds a comfortably furnished sitting and playing room that converts into sleeping accommodations for the party of kids or friends.
The Louis Room, named for the family that built the mansion nearly a century ago, is awash in earth-tone reflections from the warm brown walls to the massive Plantation pine bedroom ensemble with armoire, side tables and an elegant, delightfully firm, and cozy queen bed.
The bed made in Indonesia with 13 hand-cut slats to support one of the best mattresses anywhere -- except, of course, in the other rooms at our B&B!
The bath, accented by earthly ceramic tile, features a stained glass window and a whirlpool bath and shower.
Breakfast
At Highland Place, you'll enjoy the breakfast almost as much as you enjoyed the bed! You'll be treated to a full gourmet breakfast in comfort as Cindy serves up freshly ground brewed coffee and a selection of teas, fresh fruits, perhaps with a bit of yogurt, a plate of pancakes or waffles or French toast or eggs.
Breakfast here is a combination of your choice and a la Cindy's whim. Yum!
Continental breakfasts are available on weekdays by request otherwise you get the full treatment.
Weather cooperating, the dining room offers a refreshing sun-sparkling morning accented by Artist/Painter Jim Veneable's interpretation of a sunset blaze wall finishing.
As you enjoy your breakfast, gaze at the giant oaks, towering magnolia and the plantings in the side yard.
On your way to breakfast, check for the sun streaming through the leaded glass panels along side the front door. You'll see rainbows in the hallway!
