Rainbow Courts

Rooms

Single Room Queen
Small but charming, these rooms have one queen size bed, a large armoire, comfortable easy chair and a writing desk. There are six non-smoking rooms and two smoking preference rooms in this category.

Single Room King
These are premium rooms with a king size bed, a large armoire, comfortable easy chair and a writing desk. There are four rooms in this category and all are non-smoking.

Doubles
Our doubles have two full size beds, a large armoire, comfortable easy chair and a writing desk. There are two rooms in this group and both are non-smoking.

Single Suites
As one of our most requested room types, these rooms are considerably larger than the single rooms and are furnished with a Queen Size bed, a large armoire, comfortable easy chair and a writing desk. All but one has a fully equipped kitchen; the one that does not has a microwave and refrigerator. Two of these suites are free standing cottages and do not share common walls with adjacent rooms which make them very unique.
There are eight non-smoking rooms and one smoking preference room with a king size bed in this category.

Double Suites
Two of the rooms in this group are located in 'The Schoolhouse'. The Schoolhouse was built in the late 1800's and was moved on site in the 1940's from the Talbot Ridge community just outside of Rockdale. At that time, it was the Talbot Ridge School. The Schoolhouse has a private yard area and landscaping with several large trees.

All Double Suites are non-smoking.

Premium Suite, The Cottage
The Cottage is a free standing luxury two room suite with a queen size bed, a separate living room and one and one half baths. Also included in the Cottage is a wet bar area and a private back deck. The rooms are furnished with antiques as well as comfortable sofa and chairs. The linens are Ralph Lauren. Coffee service is set up on the wet bar and bottled water is provided along with other premium amenities. The spacious shower is equipped with a regular and rain shower head that allows the guest to choose between one or the other or both. Adirondack chairs are on the private porch that overlooks a lovely central lawn area. Room service breakfast is offered to the cottage guests for an additional charge. The Cottage is furnished with a TV and DVD/VCR in the living room area. A TV and CD player is also provided in the bedroom. Movies are available for the VCR.

The Cottage is non-smoking room and accommodates two adults.

Premium Suite, The Carriage House
The Carriage House, circa 1870, was originally a functioning carriage house when the motel was founded. It is a large upstairs free standing luxury suite that is beautifully furnished with a king size bed, fully furnished kitchen, living room/bedroom combination and large bathroom with a Jacuzzi whirlpool bath and a large separate shower. The small upstairs deck is furnished with a small antique table and two chairs.

Premium Suite, Room No.36
Room No.36 is a free standing cottage that does not share common walls with adjacent rooms. This cottage has a large combined living and bedroom area with a queen size bed and is furnished with traditional Thomasville cherry furniture but with a few non-traditional surprises. The bathroom door is from the 1800's and is beautiful etched glass. The bathroom is decorated with a mantel original to the business over a pedestal lavatory, an antique corner cabinet and a telephone. The cottage also includes a kitchen with a wrought iron table and chairs, and is furnished with a refrigerator and a microwave. This room is frequently requested and a favorite to many of our guests.

This is a non-smoking room.

Activities

Rainbow Courts is ideally located near many Central Texas attractions and points of interest, offering visitors to the area a wide variety of historic and natural attractions, as well as music and nightlife. Enjoy the area, then come back to your beautifully appointed room to relax and recharge.

Austin, Texas

Austin is just over an hour's drive from our Rockdale hotel and offers Central Texas visitors a variety of entertainment options. Choose from museums, galleries, bars, restaurants and nightlife options, as well as many attractions for outdoor enthusiasts.

Austin is known for its live music venues, where both local and national favorites perform throughout the year in the Warehouse District and 6th Street. Known as the 'music capital of Texas', you will find just about any type of music, from country to classic rock to everything in between. The Austin City Limits Music festival is held every year in late September. In addition to many stages featuring three days of non-stop music, the festival offers food booths and an art market.

For outdoor adventurers, try the Barton Springs Swimming Pool at Zilker Park, or hike the Barton Creek Greenbelt, which offers almost eight miles of hiking trails along walls of cliffs and several swimming areas. Take a tour of Lake Austin on the Austin Duck, or rent a wave runner or boat and create your own fun! While in Austin, make sure to find time to watch the bats at dusk at the Congress Street Bridge or stroll through the Austin Zoo.

Apache Pass River Ampitheater

The Apache Pass River Amphitheater is located just down the road from our historic Rockdale Texas hotel at Rainbow Courts. This historic venue offers concerts, special events and covered meeting facilities.

College Station Texas

Home to Texas A&M, College Station is best known for its premier college football and basketball programs. Football crowds are notorious for their famous 'twelfth man', a local tradition stemming from the 1920's, when a former football player was pulled onto the field to play as the team was down against the nation's top team. Today, this tradition of supporting the team is carried on by Texas A&M students who call themselves the Twelfth Man and are known for their boisterous team support.
