Situated within the beautiful Vale Of Clwyd, Nant-yr-Hengoed, Groes is a rural village location approximately 4 miles out of Denbigh.
On the edge of Snowdonia National Park, Groes is an ideal location for many outdoor sports and is in close proximity to a wide range of leisure activities including fishing facilities, mountain and hill climbing and water sports. Beaches along the North Wales Coast are a 20 minute car journey away and offer excellent facilities for families.
Denbighshire is an excellent area for cycling including top class mountain bike course, and this year the Tour o Britain passes through the area on one of their stages
Denbigh is a picturesque market town, offering a host of things to do and interesting places to visit. Events include a People's market every month, an annual Flower Show, Beer Festival, Folk Festival and Walking Festival.
The area is steeped in history, with plenty of attractions including the beautifully preserved 13th Century Denbigh Castle Ruins which overlook the historic town. Other local attractions can be found at Rhuddlan Castle, St. Asaph Cathedral, Ruthin Castle, Llangollen and the Snowdonia National Park, which are all within a short drive from Denbigh. The path of Offa's Dyke runs through the Vale Of Clwyd, starting at Prestatyn and running close to Denbigh, offering a wealth of walks amid beautiful scenery.
There are a number of Golf Clubs as well as a local Gliding club, leisure centre and horse riding facilities. Denbigh is also within easy access to the shopping and cultural centres of Chester, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Wrexham.
There are many local pubs, restaurants of all origin and many theatres nearby in Mold, Rhyl and Llandudno.
