Middle Lodge, Bed & Breakfast

Middle Lodge is a 4 star rated 18th century modernised and extended Welsh farm cottage. It is situated in an elevated southerly position overlooking the village of Cwmcarvan with superb views over the lovely Cwmcarvan Valley and beyond to the Welsh mountains. It is an idyllic secluded rural location in the heart of agricultural Monmouthshire, yet is only three miles from the historic and ancient town of Monmouth.

The famous and historic Raglan Castle, Tintern Abbey, Chepstow Castle and many other listed monuments are but a few miles away. A superb variety of walks, horse riding, canoeing, bike riding are within easy reach. Many pubs and world class award winning restaurants are less than 1/2 hour drive away.

The house has been the family home for over thirty years and is ideally situated for the exploration of the Brecon Beacons, the Wye Valley, world heritage Offas Dyke and the Forest of Dean all of which are within easy reach.

We offer 2 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a large comfortable family room with a double bed and one divan. This is a very sunny room with low windows overlooking the garden and the Cwmcarvan valley. Bedroom 2 is a twin room. Both bedrooms have a shared bathroom, freeview tv, tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer and WiFi.

There is a comfortable sitting room with freeview tv and dvd, comfy sofas and an open fire. Full English breakfast or a breakfast of your choice is served in the dining room.

Middle Lodge is within easy reach of many pubs and world class and award winning restaurants.

Historic Monmouth, Tintern Abbey, Raglan Castle, Clearwell Caves and Chepstow Castle are local attractions to name but a few.

Walkers and ramblers are well catered for. Monmouth is situated in the Wye Valley, and the Brecon Beacons, the world heritage Offas Dyke and the Forest of Dean are all within easy reach.

Golfers are spoilt for choice in the local area. The Celtic Manor, host of the 2010 Ryder Cup, is 20 miles away. The Rolls of Monmouth, Monmouth Golf Course and St. Pierre Golf Course are all close at hand.
