Sheila's Welsh Guest House
We are in the Usk valley on the edge of the town opposite the church. We have front views of the Olway Brook and tributaries over the countryside.
Usk is famous for its fishing and river, and its history from 55AD when the Romans first crossed the river here.
We are also famous for festivals and farmers markets and mostly for our flowers and wins of Britain in Bloom.
Having been in the hotel and pub industry for a long time I now enjoy my guest house. We are arterial to the m4 there is so much to do in Monmouthshire and it is so easy to travel whether you want golf, rugby, pony trekking, diving, flying lessons, the beach, history, nature, walking, bird watching, heritage, wine making, whisky distilleries, welsh culture, sport venues it is all within a stones throw of our town.
Views over the gardens and beyond.
We have three bedrooms: one double en-suite, and two twin rooms with hand basins in each, and a shared bathroom on the landing.
A full Welsh breakfast cooked to order, or continental and dietary options on request, is available from 7 to 9am, and is served in the dining room. If you need to leave outside these times, a packed lunch is available by prior arrangement.
The guest house is in a quiet location but none the less near to everything you could want and has been a success since 1990.
Local Area
Ideally situated for holiday breaks (golfing, fishing, county walks, or just to absorb the heritage of the town of Usk itself), we are less that 1 mile from the A449 to Monmouth, Ross on Wye and the North, which links to the M4 corridor.
Newport is 9 miles, Cardiff 24 miles.
