Ty Taf Fechan B&B
If you want a tranquil, remote, historic and character filled four star B&B then look no further! We are ideally situated to enjoy all the National Park has to offer.
We are situated in two and a half acres, adjacent to the Pentwyn and Pontsticill reservoirs, in a green valley with views of the hills.
There are fantastic walks in the National Park, many direct from the house. The 'Southern Horseshoe walk of Corn Du, Pen Y Fan and Cribyn is accessible straight from the house. We have many books and maps and can offer suggestions.
The Brecons has many areas to cycle. The 'Taff Trail' passes outside the house, and there are numerous mountain biking trails in the National Park. We have a bike washing area and can also store bikes.
Fishermen can get permits from the village, and will find a variety of fish in the reservoirs.
We have two rooms, one double ensuite and another twin/double with a private bathroom. Both have satellite tv and hostess trolley facilities. There is a private Japanese garden where guests can relax. Please look on the website for full details.
We offer a full English breakfast, locally sourced where possible, and also a vegetarian and Continental option.
The house is close to the Brecon Mountain Railway, and is a short drive to local facilities, where you can find banks, restaurants, take aways, hospital and shops.
There are two friendly pubs in the local village, serving excellent meals all year round.
We can provide a pick up service from Merthyr train station, as well as a taxi service to the local pubs in the evening. We offer reduced rates for longer stays, as well as a student discount of 10%, and special rates for single occupancy.
For those people who are out all day and require a packed lunch, this can be arranged.
At Ty Taf Fechan you will find all that you need for a short break away in the beautiful Brecon Beacons.
