The Denes
Come inside one of 'Devon's Hidden Places' and discover its Edwardian charms and peaceful location as previous guests already have. Whether you are a first time visitor or a returning guest, you will receive Sally & John's warm and friendly welcome. Feature fireplaces, original paintings and delicious home cooked food are our trademark. The dining room has a wealth of literature from local maps, guides to novels and books; including 'Advanced Level Physics' should your holiday needs require!
All our rooms are en-suite or have private facilities and have the usual range of complimentary beverages. We provide comfortable accommodation in a non-smoking establishment. Children are welcome and we can offer off road car parking. Look out for our 3-night dinner, bed & breakfast offers. Open all year.
The Denes in Lynton has the Valley of Rocks, a beautiful yet surreal location in Exmoor, just a few hundred metres down the road and footpaths up and over Hollerday Hill just a step from our front door. The Denes makes an ideal place to stay and explore Exmoor from whether walking, cycling or driving.
Further afield there is Barnstaple, a thriving market town with its interesting covered Pannier Market. The Lynton and Barnstaple Light Railway is attempting to re-construct the narrow guage railway and currently run steam trains from Woody Bay station just a couple of miles from Lynton.
Throughout the year there are varied activities, early May there is the Walking and Cycling Festival, June the Lynton and Lynmouth Music Festival, the fun Raft Race, the August Scarecrow festival, the Doone Run in September and Light up Lynton at Christmas.
