The Round House Bed & Breakfast

The Roundhouse is situated in the idyllic rolling countryside of North Devon. We offer a friendly, family run Bed & Breakfast service and are ideally located for Exmoor, beaches and beautiful coastal walks.

Arlington Court (National Trust Property) is within walking distance from our house and we often get deer from the estate in our field and even the garden. We are situated approximately 6 miles north of Barnstaple and are close to the villages of Shirwell and Bratton Fleming. North Devon Hospital is a 10minute drive from Loxhore.

Loxhore Village won the 2006 Best Village in Devon Award run by Calor Gas. The Round House is a tastefully converted 16th Century barn in a very peaceful location.
The lounge which is round in shape is where donkeys were used, walking round in circles, to drive machinery to grind wheat.

The house is beautifully decorated & furnished and is set in picturesque gardens, a woodland walk and paddocks. In the morning while guests are having breakfast Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers can often be seen at the bird feeder just outside the kitchen window.

Guests are always welcome to relax in the house and garden and if they want a break from driving we have a book of walks around Loxhore. There is also a games room with table tennis, table football and comfy sofas.

We have been offering bed & breakfast for several years now and are highly recommended by all of our guests. We serve home made bread and jams & offer freshly prepared evening meals that are cooked on an AGA.
