The Old Coffee House
The Old Coffee House is located in the heart of Ashburton, South Devon, an ideal location from which to explore Dartmoor. Ashburton, one of only four stannary towns in Devon, has retained its historic character and most of the buildings in and around the centre are listed, including The Old Coffee House.
The Old Coffee House has four rooms (2 twin rooms, 1 double room and one single room) and they are all ensuite with Freeview TV, hospitality tray and wireless internet access on request. The price, of course, includes a hearty full English breakfast (or alternative if required) which is served downstairs in our cosy tea room. We are happy to provide evening meals such as homemade fish pie, shepherd's pie, chilli con carne, vegetarian chilli to name but a few, on request and cater for vegetarians. We are also licensed to serve alcohol with or without food and are open all year round.
The Old Coffee House is situated next to the beautiful St Andrew's Parish church and our spacious rooms have views of the church grounds and the historic houses in West Street. The double and single rooms are East/West facing and the twin rooms have a West facing aspect.
Ashburton is just off the A38, equidistant from both Exeter to the North and Plymouth to the South. As well as being in an excellent area for walking, The Old Coffee House is within easy distance of such attractions as the lovely Buckfast Abbey and South Devon Steam Railway. The Old Coffee House is also within easy walking distance to the famous Ashburton Cookery School.
