The cottage was built in the early 1800's and was originally the gamekeepers cottage on the Stucely Estate. It is welcoming and homely and your hosts will assure that you are made to feel like one of the family - nothing will be too much trouble.

There are 2 large king size ensuite bedrooms with stunning river views with the added option of using an interconnecting four poster double room to make a family suite. A further double and twin room with separate private bathroom are also available. An extra single bed and travel cot are available to add to any of the double rooms to make another twin/family room.

All bedrooms have TV, tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary water & biscuits, free WiFi

Prices £35 - £50 per adult per night including delicious breakfast from our extensive menu. Children under 3 no charge & 3-12yrs half price if sharing room.

Complimentary Devon Cream tea on arrival (3pm - 5.30pm)

You can gaze out onto the river estuary whilst eating and there is private sitting room and Steinway piano for any musical guests to enjoy as well as guests' terrace outside.

You are welcome to wander through our lovely woodland paths which will take you from the house down to the river - full of bluebells and wild garlic at this time of year - direct access onto the Tarka Cycle Trail for walkers (cyclists will need to take the road)

Old Keepers Cottage is perfectly located for exploring many local attractions - enjoy walking along the North Devon coastal paths or surfing, sunbathing and sandcastle building on the beautiful beaches at Westward Ho!, Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe. Visit gardens at RHS Rosemoor and Tapely House, play golf on the oldest link course at the Royal North Devon Golf Club on Northam Burrows. Try your hand at sailing at Instow or bring/hire a bike and cycle on the Tarka Trail. The picturesque village of Clovelly with its donkeys and cobbled streets is a short drive away and for those wanting to ride on the moors you can visit Dartmoor & Exmoor.
