Hahei is renowned for its beautiful walks, stunning Cathedral Cove, safe beach, diving, kayaking.
We are only 7 minutes drive to experience the unusual springs at Hot Water Beach and we make an excellent base to discover the secrets the rest of the Coromandel has to offer.
With rugged volcanic hills, a spectacular coastline hemmed with the lush kauri forest, Coromandel is a favourite holiday destination with the locals.
The scenery is complemented by a fascinating history, with ancient Maori pa sites and historical buildings.
Walk or kayak to Cathedral Cove to enjoy the white sand beach and the rock formations, or dig a hole in the sand and create your own hot water pool - a volcanic phenomenon.
Visit the local artisans selling their crafts, take a coastal walk, visit the Mine Museum or watch out for sea birds. There is plenty of opportunity to enjoy the scenery and heritage of this region.
We are close to Cooks Beach where Captain Cook landed in 1769.
Ferry Landing offers a passenger ferry to Whitianga where you can book a boat trip and explore the wonderful coastline or do a bit of fishing, check out the town with its museum, shops, and a variety of good restaurants.
Or you could make your own piece of jewellery at the bone carving studio in Whitianga
Coromandel is an Old Goldmining town is full of history with activities such as the Driving Creek Railway, old Gold Stamper battery, Waterworks, great examples of huge Kauri as well as quaint shops and cafes.
Our beaches are some of the loveliest in the country with their golden sands, safe swimming, stunning rock formations and magnificent Pohutukawa trees lining the beaches, their bright red flowers making quite a statement -November/ December
Local artists, photo studios, knife maker, potters etc all sell from their studios.
Or have a game of golf at several of our courses followed by dinner at a golf club or restaurant.
It is only 2 hours from Auckland airport, so an ideal spot to wind down at the end of your holiday.
