A stay at Mount Tutu Eco-Sanctuary is an Outdoor Education Experience and immersion in the Natural Ecology, ongoing Bush and Bird Conservation programmes at the Sanctuary.
At Mount Tutu Eco-Sanctuary, which is a 'Mainland Island' Sanctuary, there are Puketea Trees over 500 years old and a gravity defying Tawa giant that has a girth at its base of 5 metres.
Challenge your senses and explore the GLOW WORM GROTTO after nightfall. A magnificent fairyland sight of starlight splendour. By chance you may also hear the haunting sound of the native owl, the Morpork (Ruru).
Be guided, or self explore the rainforest tracks, trailing through ancient native bush. New Zealand is a safe country with no dangerous animals, no snakes, no tropical diseases.
Hand feed the animals and waterfowl.
Hear the morning chorus of native birdsong.
Stroll around the expansive gardens.
Enjoy the views as if you are soaring with the New Zealand Falcon 1000 ft up.
