Shula's Lake House
Enjoy the quiet, tranquil lakeside setting away from traffic noise and sulphur fumes. Shula's Lake House offers fabulous panoramic views of Mokoia Island, Mt. Tarawera, and the surrounding hills. We have two types of accommodation to make your stay in the Bay of Plenty a pleasurable one; the romantic Panorama Suite and the cosy Tui Room. Ngongotaha Stream, renown for trout fishing, is only metres away. Spend your time relaxing in the spa pool, fishing, kayaking Lake Rotorua and the streams, or just sitting on the deck listening to the birds and waterfowl.
You are only 6km from Rotorua Centre so all the tourist attractions, thermal wonders, and Maori cultural activities are close at hand.
Thermal activity is at the heart of tourist appeal. Geysers and bubbling mud-pools, and hot thermal springs are within easy reach of the city. Nowhere in New Zealand is the earth more powerful - these geothermal attractions will leave you amazed at how unique Papatuanuku (mother earth) truly is.
The geothermal wonders provide soothing thermal waters. Known as Nature Spa of the South Pacific, Rotorua has been a spa town and major tourist resort since the 1800s. You can rejuvenate your spirit as you soak in the natural thermal pools.
This is the heartland of New Zealand’s Maori history and culture. Encounter the warmth, proud spirit, deep sense of history and quick humour that encompasses Maoridom. You will find all these qualities in your experience with Maori culture. It's the sensation we call Manaakitanga.
The natural beauty is varied and abundant and is recognised immediately as you walk into Shula's Lake House and experience the amazing landscape. You can become one with the natural beauty of the area by kayaking the lakes and streams or taking one of the many walks through beautiful forests or along magnificent streams.
If you're looking for adventure, New Zealand, especially Rotorua is the place for you. With thrills and adrenalin activities galore, even the most hard core adrenalin junkie is guaranteed to be satisfied. These adventures are nestled in a natural wonderland that showcases the best of New Zealand's outdoor scenery.
